Brian Hagger, was a painter of urban scenes in oil, born in Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk. He studied at Ipswich School of Art, 1952–6, then Royal College, 1958–61. Following the Royal College, he displayed his works on the Green Park railings, self-effacingly signing them with an H. He also showed his work in the RA summer shows. It was from the Green Park railings Jackie Collins and Oscar Lerman approached him to have a one-man show at the Bramante Gallery (1968-1971), to which end he had four successful shows. Following its closure, he went on to have one-man shows at Thackeray Gallery, 1972–5; and Langton Gallery, 1976, also numerous mixed shows, Phoenix Gallery in Lavenham and Highgate, and with Norwich Twenty Group.

Hagger and his wife Anne left London in 1974 feeling out-priced but also due to the couple having their only child. They relocated to Brighton, then five years later to Great Yarmouth, and eventually to Norwich in 1986.

This website is dedicated to preserving their memory by sharing his work with the world, for everyone to cherish and enjoy.
